Old style wood windows have frames that are more than 7" thick. Replacement windows are 3 1/4" and designed to sit in the pocket created from removing the sashes and the blind stop between them. It leaves the interior trim and exterior brickmold and sill in place. In this installation we've covered the exterior wood with custom bent metal.
This is a very popular product with tilting top and bottom sashes, full screens as an option or a half screen that can slide up and down for use on either the top or bottom sash. The tilting is great on second floor applications and it has night latches to prevent it from opening more than 3" so you can ventilate while still being secure. These can have flat or contoured grids.
This is a great update. The end panels swing out and the screen is inside the home for easy removal when an open look is desired,Great in twin openings too! Center window is a picture window that is stationary. Interior cranks and handle locks complete a very upscale look that designers love. Here we have a very happy customer and another great review, This is in Carrollton Texas,
The frame is 2 3/4" from glass to edge of window. It is the smallest frame in the industry for a full framed mid ranged type vinyl replacement window, It is very desireable in narrow windows or in cases where we really can't afford to loose light. The extruded aluminum screen slides up and down without removal, the meeting rails are steel reinforced to prevent sagging and it has a lifetime warranty.
This is a great choice for so many reasons. It says cottage style and is warm and friendly. Both sides swing open to the outside and the inside screen is easily removed. The new wood trim is standard in a Window Connection replacement window installation in siding or sections of a home that stick out and have potential rotting or sagging issues. Whatever the window problem, we are the window solution!
There are many variables in manufacturers willingness to make certain types of archtops, extended leg circle tops, full radius, very tall windows and some of the unusual things we see in North Texas, Knowing who makes the best product for a specific opening is key. This was cost effective but perhaps may have been better as a twin from a different window manufacturer. Knowing the options and why to buy can make a residential window project timeless.
For the wood window affecionados there is the simulated divided lite grid. These grids stick out from the surface of the glass inside and out instead of the typical grids between the glass. Grids between the glass can be flat or contoured from most manufacturers but the tint of the Low E Glass is visible in front of the grids.
